Boat ownership changes - 8017-8324

You have probably gathered that something was up after reading the 'for sale' ads on this site.

Rob Burton and I have exchanged boats. I will be helming 8324 with a shiny new Burton mast. 8017 will be campaigned by Rob, until sold, also with a Burton mast. 8017 will make a great Star for someone. It's turnkey, well maintained and quick. There's a recent Emmeti mast, also unscathed, up for sale.

That brings to 3 new 'Burton's' in English Bay and 6 in District 6. Prior to this purchase, I have been in touch with a few owners of Rob's mast from Miami (Arthur Anasov, Judd Smith-Doyle Sails), San Diego (Eric Doyle-North Sails) and Seattle (Brian Ledbetter, Foss Miller) and received positive reviews. There is gathering praise and enthusiasm in the International Star Class for his well made mast. All were willing to share their tuning insights. I feel Rob deserves our support.

However, I have just had my quadriceps tendon repaired after a very 'uncool' fall while hiking. No drama, sorry. I will be walking in a splint for several months. So it will be a few weeks before Paul and I get out sailing. Then, look out!!
