2019 Western Hemispheres - San Diego

We saw weather that was closer to fall in Vancouver for a few days, big swells in the fog, and finally the California sun came out. It was sunny, 6-12 knots and downwind slides.

The Seattle team of Carl and Jamie Buchan (son of God and grandson of God) finished clear of a group tightly bunched for 2-4. Ledbetter / Liljedahl, Doyle/Infelise and Terhune/Coleman

The rest of us mere mortals from District 6 had a respectable regatta amongst all those Gold Stars. The San Diego Yacht club hospitality was superb. Daily beer and munchies at the end of race day, breakfasts on the deck and unlimited access to the facility. This club knows how to put on a regatta.

It was great to share the event with new and old friends. Good times.

We now have teams from California planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest - Driscoll, Smith and Pritchard.
