Star Class - District 6

International Star Class Yacht Racing Association - District 6

Gentleman,This will be a long one so please sit down...
I apologise for falling off the wagon with updates and reminders on the latest regattas, please forgive me.  Bless me fleet members for I have sinned!
First off is WAVES hosted by RVYC, hats off to Steve Fleckenstein and his revolving door of crews; Charles Hansen and Rob Mulder.  All three claimed first place quite handily.  2nd spot goes to Dennis Burgess and Ray Rogers.  Fred Dill and Mike Wurm take third from KYC.  The top star in the the Easter Seals cup was Dennis and Ray!  It was an interesting race as far as conditions go, but the Stars performed most excellently all finishing in the top 8 positions!  All in all a very good showing for our class and fleet.
This last weekend was The Kits Invitational.  Now, I will request a bit of assistance from the competitors as I cannot seem to access the full results from the KYC webpage.  Please help as I am a bit of a technological dufus.  I want to know!
Also, there was a crane mishap at the RVYC drydock.  While it did involve a M242 and contributes to my "one less 242" campaign, this is a very serious incident.  No one was hurt but could have been much worse rightly so.  I urge everyone in the fleet to take the five minutes and please check their lifting gear.  This is a situation that should never happen and can always be prevented.  Again, I urge everyone to check your lifting straps all over and replace if there is any doubt!!!
Our next regatta isn't until August 20 and 21, the RVYC One Design Series.  This will be an excellent tune up regatta before the Star District 6 Labour Day Regatta!!!  I hopw to see the fleet in full force for both events.  Any absences from the Labour Day Districts event shall be approved by the English Bay Fleet Captain via formal letter from absentee accompanied by large bottle of rum, and maybe a bit of ridicule from said fleet captain.  Till then boys, have a great summer!
