A great weekend of fun and sun for the English Bay Star Fleet. The first regatta of the year came down to the final race to find out who was going to be the winner. Alan Cullen won the regatta with a strong effort in tricky conditions.Saturday showed winds from the SW ranging from 6-15 knots with 15 -20 degree shifts. Sunday was about the same but the winds came in from the East with the same 15-20 degrees shifts.  Finally,…

Gentlemen,

A report from the Starclass Long Range Planning Committee to the International Governing Committee.  These are the bullet points that were discussed the most over the last year and a half amongst LRPC members. There were over forty two ideas presented by the committee. The top twenty six that seemed to have the most merit were simplified to these seventeen.  Expect to see most of these points come into resolutions to vote on to the star class rules in the coming year.…

I am writing to you today in regards to the 2012/2013 ISCYRA Ballot that you may have recently received in the mail.

There is one amendment that I have particular concern about, which is Resolution #2 on the ballot form.  The resolution is to amend the required safety equipment to be carried aboard each vessel.  The proposed resolution deletes the requirement of a hand bailer, and anchor.

Dear Fleet Members,

I was very pleased with our turnout for the WAVES Regatta and thanks for those that did attend.  Above and beyond now, our pinnacle regatta for our fleet, the Kits Invitational, will be held upon the July 7/8th weekend.  I have confirmation from Dave Watt and Foss Miller from Seattle, and already David and Sue Branch from Oregon for their attendance in the Kits Regatta.  As a fleet, I am PLEASE asking for all of us to participate on…

Spirng is officially here! Time to get out of bed, remove the covers and hoist some sails for this weekend's RVYC April One Design Series. SI's are available at www.royalvan.com It would be great to see a big turnout for the first event of the year. Let's hope for good weather! And some minor droop hiking for the crews.
