DONATION FOR UKRAINIAN YACHT CLUB

Hello Star Sailors!

I ask you for help in my charity project.

Originally, I am from Ukraine, small town of Reni where I started my activity as a sailor 40 years ago.

Reni Yacht Club was founded in 1960s. Hundreds of children learnt to sail there and its graduates participated in Soviet Union and international yacht races. Reni is a small port town at the west of the Ukraine, on a bank of the Danube, close to the border of Romania. The economy of the area was hit hard after the break down of the Soviet Union and, unfortunately, the club had to shut its doors and ceased to operate. As you know, nowadays the country survives hard times. 

A few years ago some enthusiasts got together and decided to revive the club. They rent a building from the local authorities and teach children on the volunteer basis. The fleet of the club consists of boats built more than 35 years ago. Both the building and the fleet require constant repairs, which are funded by volunteers and donations.

Thanks to my friends, we collected some funds. I bought already 18 used wet suits (30 needed).

Donations are essential for the Club; any used wetsuits, hardware ( blocks, camcleats, chackles) are especially appreciated.

Arthur Anosov, Vasil Gureyev, Denis Khashina, Valentine Mankin (3-time Olympic champion) all are from Ukraine. Making donation you help future champions to appear.
