Minutes from AGM held at KYC Nov 5, 2009

Dues. Dues for 2010 are $95 for Active (boat owner) and $45 for crew. All members are strongly encouraged to join the fleet through Fleet Secretary Ray Rogers. It is mandatory for boat owners to join if they wish to race. Crews who sail but do not want to join are encouraged to contribute $10 to the fleet for the season.

Results. Winners of the series and season trophies are as shown below. The trophies will be awarded at the Royal Van awards night and Kits Yacht Club prizegiving.

Draft Schedule for 2010

The draft schedule for 2010 is on the district website. Please be aware it is subject to change and should be confirmed in the spring of 2010.

Fleet Officers.
Craig Wilshire will step down after six years as Fleet Captain. Thank you for everyone’s support during that time.
Brett Wilson will be your new Fleet Captain.
Ray Rogers will remain as Secretary/Treasurer
Ian Scott will remain as Lieutenant.
Larry Warshawski will remain as the fleet representative at RVYC.

New Business.
-Fleet purchase of fleet mast. There is interest in having a new Emetti or Sparcraft mast blank purchased by the fleet members to have on hand in case anyone looses a rig. The insurance company would then purchase this local mast and replace it for the next time. This will avoid lengthy shipping delays as new masts must be shipped with a boat to avoid damage and can take over 2 months. The details of the proposal should be worked out before the spring meeting. Cost would be about $4500 or roughly $300 per boat owner.

-Faux Pas Trophy. After a lengthy absence the Faux Pas Trophy, first awarded in 1949 and last awarded to Bill West, has resurfaced. Phil Lockwood won it uncontested for his infamous redress providing port layline approach to the top mark in race 4 of WAVES. Phil is responsible for having his name engraved on it and bringing it to the next AGM.

-One Day Regattas. There was some talk about having the fleet sail only one day for a couple regattas this year. Those regattas should be decided in advance and marked on the schedule before next spring.

-7215 is for sale. Steve Pellerin is selling 7215. $4000. Great boat for a potential new member of the fleet.
