Star Class - District 6

International Star Class Yacht Racing Association - District 6

WAVES is coming up and I would like to encourage your participation. There are several boats that will be back in the water after Al Cullen's mast run and very successful Rollins Regatta (3rd - awesome!)  in San Diego. Some are short crew and some are short skippers. Please use this site to fill the boats. I and others are available to help set up a few broken boats.

The District's are tentatively set for August 11-12 in Seattle. This is a Worlds 2013 qualifying event, again in San DIego. It should be hotly contested. Brett and I can tell you that the effort to get there is well worth it! To that end, we need to practice more than the weekend regattas.

At the AGM, there was some enthusiasm for Wednesday evening racing. I am going to suggest that we start with an ad hoc scrimmage with a few boats in the area between RVYC and KYC. We could meet at 1800 on the water. I can easily get a few marks to run a few rabbit starts. We can stay away from the OD start, until there is sufficient boats to get a start ( 5 )  I know James and the RVYC OD fleets would welcome us. Email or call me or post here if your in. This is intended to low fuss & casual.

We very much need to be out on the water as an active & viable fleet!

Yes, it's true.  We have Foss and crew, Dave Watt/Dave Martin and already David and Sue Branch up for kits.  If we as a fleet play our cards right, we could have fifteen boats on the line!!!  Exciting times!

A fun weekend.  Good to be out again, thanks to Al and his mast run.  Foss is coming for Kits.  Let's have a great turnout!

WAVES:

I'm writing this report, as Brett is his usual shy self. Well done to Fishy & Owen.  Steve & Rob were second & Craig and Charles were third. 9 Stars, 5 courses, lots of sandy groundings in the Easter Seals race and glorious warm weather. This old sailor has never seen such weird racing conditions-big ebb, Fraser outflow and north west winds. That's my excuse, anyway! National Bank deserves the credit for the regatta festivities -thanks Steve. Let's get a few more out for the Kits Regatta!

Paul and I will be out again tomorrow @ 1800. Join us.

Hi - I'm available to crew for the waves weekend. Or if there's a crew with access to a boat, I can skipper. I can be reached at john 'at' syncraconstruction 'dotcom'.

Bruce and gang,

Owen and I are committing for all the next events, including the Seattle Districts, we want to win that and then go to the Worlds in 2013.  Every bit of practice counts for us!!!  I hope to see the rest of you out!

Brett
