Damien has bought 8083 and moved it to Vancouver. 8083 previously owned by Derek DeCoouteau has great credentials.
We are all ready to lend a hand to get him up to speed.

KYC hosted a great regatta in sunny weather last weekend. The wind was frustratingly fickle and the RC worked hard to give us 4 races. Doug and 'Becca Smith visited from California and showed finesse in the tricky conditions. They captured first, but the dog fight was for the remainder of the podium, with four teams 2 points apart.
As usual the Saturday BBQ was amazing! It was great to see Foss, Daniel, David and Kate again.
New to our fleet were Ben Mumford and James…

Hunter Lowden and Brett Wilson (aka George Michael and Max Lever) have bought 7988 from Al Cullen. Big news for the English Bay fleet and District 6. 7988 is committed to Doug Smith and his daughter from California for the Kits Invite, so watch for them at the District Champs in Seattle.

We saw weather that was closer to fall in Vancouver for a few days, big swells in the fog, and finally the California sun came out. It was sunny, 6-12 knots and downwind slides.
The Seattle team of Carl and Jamie Buchan (son of God and grandson of God) finished clear of a group tightly bunched for 2-4. Ledbetter / Liljedahl, Doyle/Infelise and Terhune/Coleman
The rest of us mere mortals from District 6 had a respectable regatta amongst all…

The English Bay Star Fleet has started a facebook page. This platform will allow easier posting, more proactive notification of fleet news and offer better flexibility for communication. I would encourage all to sign up. If you, like I, am reluctant to expose yourself to the deluge of FACEBOOK notifications and gratuitous spam, just TURN OFF ALL NOTIFICATIONS IN THE SETTINGS EXCEPT FROM STAR SAILORS.

6 local Stars competed in beautiful weather for the Fleets - Congrats to Al Cullen and Chuck Hansen for their win. Thanks to Brett for the RC work in trying conditions.
There was plenty of on the water confusion and dock conversation about the correct finishing procedure in the two shortened races. As you recall , the tide was very strong and the wind light, particularly in the last race.
I took the advice of Judge Rick Hatch, so that we will be better informed next time. Here…
